“All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”
Hard and industrious work is necessary to achieve our goals in life. But concentration on study alone with no recreation tends to make children dull and unsociable. The mind’s constitution is such that it can work for a long time. But at the same time, proper relaxation is absolutely necessary to keep it from getting overtaxed. An overtaxed mind loses all social spirit making the personality dull. Children are made to study continuously so as to get good results in examinations. But this rather tends to make a child just a bookworm with no social abilities. A balanced scheme of study and recreation is the proper way to keep the mind in trim shape. This is especially very important in the case of children because it is the age when the personality of the child is being moulded.
At Kamla Nehru we believe in extending education beyond the confines of the classroom and in the holistic development of our students. We cultivate values of team spirit, discipline and healthy competition through a variety of sports activities including cricket, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, athletics, etc and develop creativity, strategic thinking and problem solving skills through chess, carom, table tennis and badminton. Sports play a major role in the physical as well as all round development of children that’s why we stress extracurricular activities in school routine. We also encourage our students to achieve extra-curricular recognition through participation in many Divisional, State and National tournaments.
School also conducts sporting events in T.T. Nagar Stadium on regular basis and takes guidance from SAI ( Sports Authority of India) time to time.
